Sefte Anywhere You Live: Melissa Roberts of Melissa Roberts Interiors

We are so honored to see Sefte in homes around the globe; every home making Sefte uniquely theirs. Our latest 'Sefte Anywhere You Live' series features interior designer Melissa Roberts from Houston, TX. We love her bright, airy spaces, her use of texture and contrast. So we were all ears to hear about where she lives and how Sefte fits into her life. Thank you, Melissa, for sharing with us!

Tell us what you do:

Being a wife and homeschool mom come first, but I work full-time as an interior designer and social media influencer. Sometimes balancing these can be a daunting task, but I truly love what I do (as a boss babe and as a wife/mom) and wouldn’t change a thing!

Where’s your favorite place for design inspiration in Houston?

We have a wonderful Decorative Center here in Houston that is full of interior design inspo. Some of the best vendors have showrooms at this location with both classic and modern trends. It’s a fun place to walk around when sourcing for clients or to simply get inspired while checking out the latest pieces.

What’s your favorite shop or restaurant in Houston?

Shop? Well I love to shop a little too much, so selecting one favorite store would be a difficult task. However, I’m not ashamed of the fact that I love Homegoods and Dillard’s probably more than anyone else I’ve ever met.

Where do you seek sanctuary - to dream, meditate, workout, be creative or find me time?

Time with my family is exactly what my heart needs. My husband and son know how to make me laugh which is always the perfect medicine. I do enjoy a little me time at the gym, where nothing else in the world matters except making sure I keep pushing through the workout, and keep breathing. Sometimes I may feel like I am dying during the workout but as soon as the hour is over I feel so relieved and am ready to conquer the day. (A glass of wine in the evenings is also relaxing and tends to be a great tool to get my creative juices flowing!)

Tell us how you update your home for autumn?

Fall, oh how I love you! As soon as September begins I start making the transformation in my home. I bring in warmer color tones with lots of organic elements, like succulents and moss balls. I typically change out my decorative pillows, always keeping navy in the mix though. Navy is my signature color! A few new pillows and the perfect throw blanket are exactly what my home needs to begin feeling like fall is near. A few weeks into the month, I start bringing out the pumpkins and gourds. This year I will keep the colors soft for a more neutral theme.

What’s your favorite thing to do in Houston in the autumn?

While my son is still little I enjoy taking him to fall festivals and pumpkin patches. Houston has some amazing pumpkin patches that offer way more than just pumpkin picking. From oversized corn mazes, to berry picking, and pumpkin chunkin’. The list goes on - everything is bigger in Texas! Of course another favorite is decorating for the new season. I love change and that includes seasonal decor.

What’s your favorite Sefte product?

Can someone truly pick one product as a favorite? I don’t think so! Sefte offers such an amazing line of products with quality that is unparalleled. I have the Labradorite throw which is perfect for the upcoming cooler months. If I have to choose one product, this will be it, but there are several others that give this fabulous throw a run for its money.

Thanks, Melissa. We agree :)
